6. Braunenberg
Between the two basins “Bruchwiese” and “Alter Weiher” on the Schwenderbach steep slope, the “Braunenberg” rises up to a height of 302 meters. At the time of the original cadastre, the area was almost entirely forested. The arable land to the east and south of the forest is documented under the field name “Vorn am Brauneberg”. The mountain and the two open fields got their name from the brownish soil in contrast to the more reddish soils of the Rothenberg, which adjoins further to the northwest.
